Detroit industrialist John H. French commissioned naval architect D.B. Dobson to design his
private luxury fantail yacht to be the fastest and most stable diesel yacht of her time.
The vessel was built by highly regarded shipbuilders Pusey & Jones of Wilmington, DE.
Later, after service in WW II, she was modernized to serve as a private yacht and guest charter
vessel for the Tides Inn of Irvington, VA. Rechristened as Miss Ann, further
improvements made over the years enhanced her ability to serve her guests and kept her in
compliance with improving USCG requirements. |
